Passenger information display system
General information
Passenger information display system (PIDS) is assigned for display of time-table, current information about departure/ arrival/taking off, changes in the flight timetable, information about the landing/debarkation areas (locks), props (tables) of passengers registration, customs control passing and examination of passports, luggage or hand luggage receiving and examination, other certificate information in the real time.
PIDS provides forming and delivery of information, which is coordinated in place and time, on all facilities or only chosen display facilities (TFT-monitors, CRT- monitors, plasma display panels, LCD-indicator board) in the hand or automatic mode.
PIDS is built as the centralized/decentralized control system of display facilities (with few control centers). Ethernet network, the TCP/IP protocol is used as communication channel.
PIDS control is carried out at the commands of operator/operators from one or few centers.
PIDS specification includes:
- overall control facilities (server equipment);
- automation equipped working place for official personnel;
- data terminal equipment for information display (display facilities);
- specialized software for information display.
The hardware support of control center and operators workplaces envisages the standard models use of the computing engineering and communication equipment.
Offered architecture PIDS supports basic functions: display facilities control, display scenarios preparation, administration, control and sampling data analysis, and also provides system high reliability and fault withstand ability.
System can consists of : operator’s AEW, administrator’s AEW, person’s on duty AEW.
Informational monitors have the PC-oriented controllers, which are working under the specialized software control. This software operates as the remote client in PIDS and allows to organize the full-blown display facilities control.

Key functions list of IDS Leater
- ensuring of seasonal (on the set time period) trips timetable creation, editing and storage;
- production of departure and arrival plan on current and nearest days and its support in the actual state;
- ensuring of day's trips timetable editing;
- ensuring of arbitrary reports and plans forming about departure, arrival, delays and lateness, their type-out;
- list-keeping of text messages for the alphanumeric information display facilities;
- ensuring of graphic images creation and editing for multifunction monitors;
- generation of information output control scenarios and display facilities control on the basis of the created scenarios;
- control scenarios database maintenance;
- automatic information output (in accordance with the set control scenario) and hand information output on display facilities (on operator commands);
- support of the text message or graphic image operative placing on the chosen display facility or on the group of display facilities;
- automatic tracking of the display facilities state and operator warning in the case of critical states detection: power supply failure, switching off, device failure. IDS Leater provides round-the-clock continuous work in the automatic mode, namely:
